Josh is excited to be a part of The Civic Canopy board because of his long-held belief in collective impact and community voice. He’s excited to play a role in the important work the Canopy is doing across Colorado. He currently serves as a Senior Managing Director with Teach For America, where he leads the development and implementation of the organization’s national base member engagement strategy. After starting his career as a teacher on Chicago’s South Side, Josh received a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he focused on democracy, politics, and institutions. While attaining his MPP, Josh interned with the White House Domestic Policy Council, Opportunity Nation, the Young Democrats of America, and the Democratic National Committee. Following graduate school, he worked at the DNC and on the Obama 2012 campaign, and afterwards served in the Obama Administration as the Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at the US Department of Commerce. Originally from Upstate New York, Josh is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he studied political science.
